In Memoriam

Joyce Dawson (1918 - 2008)

Dawson, Joyce (nee Price) on November 25, 2008 in Victoria B.C., widow of John P.T. Dawson (Capt., R.C.N.). Survived by her daughter, Anne MacAulay, and son-in-law Jay. Dearly loved "Beezie" to Brian, his wife Lauren, their son, Seamus, Jane and her husband, Jay ("Two"). Funeral service were held at Sands Funeral Chapel, 1803 Quadra Street, Victoria on Saturday, November 29, 2008 followed by a reception. Flowers gratefully declined, but donations in Joyce's memory may be made to: Victoria Hospice Foundation, 1510 Fort St., Victoria, B.C. V8S 5J2; Victoria SPCA, 3150 Napier Street, Victoria, B.C. V8T 4V5 or a charity of your choice.

Lauren Macaulay presented her husband, Brian, with their first child, Seamus Brady Macaulay in April.

Anne Macaulay (A61) reports:

Jane (A61B) and her husband, Jay, have been working in Italy for the last year or so while waiting for his immigration papers to be processed, and they now appear to be rready. They are hoping to spend the summer on Salt Spring with us if they can find jobs on the island; if not, they'll have to struggle with the Vancouver housing market and get jobs there.

Felicite Morgan (A13C) presented her husband, Peter, with their third child, Imogen Helen Elizabeth, on December 16th, 2007. Mother and child are doing well, and Granny is thrilled!

Anne Macaulay (A61) writes in part:

Jane Macaulay (A61B) was married in Salt Spring Island to Jay Holland on August 19th. He is an Australian she met while working “Down Under”, and I’m happy to say that at the moment they plan on settling in BC, which will be nice, as Brian and Lauren live in Dartmouth, N.S.


Sept. 8, 2006

Lorna Hammond (A41) writes in part:

Blair Hammond (A41B) and his wife, Jennifer Partington welcomed their 2nd son, Brett Christopher Hammond to-day, Sept.8. He was born at the Ottawa Hospital, Civic Campus and is a brother to Kenny who turned 3 on May 6th. Brett is our fifth grandchild.

Jonathan Price (A11) reports:

Thomas Price (A11B) was recently awarded his Eagle Scout rank, following his brother, Michael (A11A) in receiving this honour. 

 

Michael has just completed his sophomore year in Environmental Engineering at Humboldt State University. Thomas has been accepted into California Polytechnic University as an Aerospace Engineering major, and will be starting this fall. Both campuses are part of the California State University system.

Jonathan Price (A11) reports:

Tom Mackay (A13D) was promoted to Lieutenant-Colonel in April.  He was then appointed Commanding Officer of the Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) of Canada at the Change of Command ceremony on Sunday, May 1st after the Annual Church Parade and Inspection.  The last family member to command The Black Watch was Tom Price (W14), who set a splendid example, and was an inspiration for his young cousin who has followed in his footsteps..

Jeremy Price (A12A) is now living with his wife, Alison, in Vancouver, and has his own website www.jeremyprice.net

Michael Price (A11A) was awarded his Eagle Scout in March of this year, and has just successfully completed his freshman year in Environmental Engineering at Humboldt State University in Arcata, Calif.

Elizabeth Vere "Betty" Price (1915 - 2004)

PRICE, Elizabeth Vere (nee Strover). Peacefully at home on July 20, 2004. Beloved wife of the late Frederick Avery Price (A1), dear mother of Jonathan (Betsy), Miles and Elizabeth McCrudden (Bill), much loved Gran of Michael, Thomas, Jeremy, Caroline, John, Andrew, Avery, Felicite and Tom and dear G.G. to ten great-grandchildren. Betty is also survived by her brother Wyndham (Marie-Claire). A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 29 at St. Mary's Church, 263 Main Road, Hudson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fleurigny Fund, St. Mary's Church, c/o W.G.
