Updated inquiry from Tony re: Lewis Price:
November 27th, 1998
Lewis Price (1844-1911) family. I would welcome any information on this family branch, which
I understand has never sent a member to a reunion. Lewis was the 2nd last son. He joined his brother Henry Ferrier
for a time in Chile and I believe lived in the Toronto area, as did HF when he returned from Chile. He had five
daughters and one son. The son died in 1918 without issue. Only one daughter (according to the tree), Maye Cecillia
(tree spellings - are they correct?) married and had children : Evan (b. 1926) and Patricia (b.1928). Evan's children
are : Karen and Michael, and Patricia's are : Scott and Ian; all four would be under 40. I have just learnt, from
a note, presumed to be in Aunt Flo's hand, that Maye Cecilia's husband, Pat Kelly, was a brother of Archdeacon
Kelly who married Canon Scott's only daughter (and who, upon leaving St. Mathew's Church in Quebec City, served
as Chaplain at King's Hall, Compton). I have written Brian Kelly to check on this.
Do I understand that a new family directory is being prepared, although it will not be printed? If so, I would
very much like to have a photocopy.
Spent a day this week in the Montmagny area where PB had a seigneury, extensive forest concessions, several sawmills,
a pulp mill, a barker, an electric power generating station and a shipyard. It was the lagest employer in the region
for a century. Lots of stuff out there.
I have had one comprehensive response to my solicitation letter, and would very much appreciate others. Thank you.
Tony.
